Bloodbath es una banda de death metal originaria de Estocolmo, Suecia. Fue formada en 2000, año en que lanzaron su primer EP llamado Breeding Death con Mikael Åkerfeldt (de Opeth) en voz, Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity, Nightingale) en batería, Anders "Blakkheim" Nyström (Katatonia, Diabolical Masquerade) en guitarras y Jonas Renkse (Katatonia, October Tide) en el bajo. Este material fue muy bien recibido por los fans y dos años más tarde editaban su album debut: Resurrection Through Carnage.
Nightmares Made Flesh fue editado en 2004 bajo el sello Century Media Records. Este trabajo presenta a Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain) como sustituto de Mikael Åkerfeldt en las voces, así como a Martin Axenrot remplazando a Dan Swanö en la batería y a Swanö tocando guitarras.
